Linda Miskovic, 2004 - After a four-year volleyball career at Lourdes High School in Chicago, Miskovic spent 1966-71 excelling in five sports at Western Illinois. A five-time volleyball letterwinner, Miskovic was a member of the IIAW National Volleyball Team, while also competing in five seasons of badminton, field hockey and golf, and four seasons of bowling.

Upon graduation, she returned to Lourdes as a health and physical education teacher from 1971-75, a span during which she also served as the head volleyball coach and won the 1975 Christian Youth Organization City Championship. She then enrolled in graduate school at Western Illinois, where she spent 1975-76 as the graduate assistant coach for both volleyball and golf.

In 1976, she became the Women’s Title IX Coordinator at Florida International University and one year later was employed as the school’s head volleyball and softball coach, positions she held until 1986. Her 1979 volleyball team competed in the finals of the AIAW Small College championship game, and she was named the 1980 Small College Division Coach of the Year. Switching to a university administrative role at Florida International, Miskovic became the International Student Advisor in 1986 and was named the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors (NAFSA) Southeast Region Outstanding New Professional of the Year in 1987. In 1991 she served as the school’s Director of Student Activities, a position she held for two years until becoming the registrar at Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, Calif., where she was later promoted to Director of Admissions.
