Roland LaRue, 2003 - Duke served as the physical therapist and head athletic trainer at Western Illinois from 1965-78. He started the NATA program at Western Illinois then moved to the University of Nebraska to establish its first curriculum.
He served as the NATA athletic trainer at two Olympics - the 1972 Sapporo, Japan, games and the 1980 Lake Placid, New York, games - during his career, and was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 1990.
