Gaston Freeman (deceased), 1985 - Captain of the 1946 baseball squad, Gaston went on to an outstanding high school basketball coaching career. One of the most successful boys basketball coaches in Illinois history, he had stops at DePue and Streator before a 20-year career at Maine West. He finished with 569 career victories and was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1976.
