Robert Nelson (deceased), 1984 - Bob earned four varsity letters in WIU football between 1938-42. He played center on the 1939 Little 19 Conference championship team and was an Honorable Mention All-American. Named All-Conference and was named Most Valuable Player in 1940. He was also a four-year letterwinner in basketball. He went on to own and operate Nelson's Clothing Store in Macomb and was a longtime contributor to WIU Athletics.
