Student-Athlete Success and Support

Empowering Leathernecks in the Classroom and Beyond

 Our Mission

“Student first, Athlete second” — At Western Illinois University, we focus on the academic, personal, and athletic success of our student athletes. Through dedicated support and holistic programming, we prepare Leathernecks to lead with purpose, both on the field and beyond graduation.

Philosophy

The Student-Athlete Success & Support Center, located in Malpass Library, is committed to a student-first approach that empowers athletes to balance academic achievement, personal growth, and athletics. We collaborate with coaches, faculty, and campus partners to provide tailored support, including mentoring, tutoring, and time management.
