WIU Track and Field Delivers Notable Performances at Bob Teel Invite

COLUMBIA, MO. - The Western Illinois University Track and Field team continues their hot run at the Bob Teel Invite, rewriting the school record books yet again.

Edward Clark delivered yet another outstanding race in the 200m race today. With a time of 21.93s, Clark finds his way into the school record book once again landing him the third all time fastest time. The record book was not the only place Clark's name was listed on as he also placed third overall at the invitational. Edward also managed to earn fourth place in the 60m race. 

On the women's side, Lydia Bennett finished third overall in the women's 1000m with a time of 3:04.64.

Two podium finishes for the men's 1000m race.  Leading the way was Sean Hudspath who finished first with a time of 2:30.68 making him the number seven all time record holder in program history.Finishing close behind and earning second place was Mohammed Baghati with a time of 2:33.40. Richard Brown took the crown in the 800m race with a photo finish time of 1:52.30. 

In field events, Toriano Tate jumped his way into first place in the long jump, jumping an impressive 7.29 meters and etching his name into the school record book. Cage Davidson set a new season best in the long jump with a jump of 6.84 meters in the men's long jump finishing in the top 10.


Bria Armstrong & Kelsey Hutchins earned top 10 finishes in the triple jump.  Armstrong jumped a distance of 11.11 meters and Hutchins jumped a distance of 10.85 meters.

 Dana Surwillo, Emma Ponx, and Colleen Johnson landed in the top 10 in The Pole Vault event. Johnson reached a height of 3.45 meters, while Surwillo and Ponx jumped 3.75 meters.
The Leathernecks head to Iowa State University for the Iowa State Classic on February 8.
