MACOMB , IL – Western Illinois track and field turned in a strong all-around performance at the Musco Twilight, highlighted by multiple event wins, personal records, and all-time marks.
The Leathernecks were led on the track by a dominant performance in the men's 4x100 relay, as Cage Davison, Toriano Tate, Kevyere Mack, and Kenneth Cooley raced to a season-best 41.33 to take first place.
On the women's side, Maleigha Huston delivered one of the top performances in program history in the 800 meters, winning the event in a personal-record time of 2:08.26. The mark ranks No. 2 all-time at Western Illinois. Zearra Milburn also impressed in the 400 meters, placing third with a PR of 58.65.
Sprints continued to be a strength for WIU, with Jolena Site finishing third in the 100 meters (12.27) and fourth in the 200 meters (24.98). Nyla Norman followed closely in the 200 with a fifth-place finish (25.13). On the men's side, Kenneth Cooley placed fourth in the 100 (10.76), while DonPaul finished sixth (10.87). In the 200, DonPaul led the way with a third-place finish (21.40), followed by Cooley (7th, 21.72). Toriano Tate (22.70) and Caleb Brown (22.83) each recorded personal bests.
In the middle distances, Emma-Kate Watt turned in a strong race in the 1500 meters, placing second with a PR of 4:41. Aylana Cezar added a seventh-place finish (4:57), while Eason Comer recorded an eighth-place PR of 4:01.95 on the men's side. Ellie Bauer (season best 6:00.82) also competed in the event. In the 3000 meters, Ellie Eastman (10:51.96) and Cassie Brushaber (11:24.49) each recorded personal bests.
In the hurdles, Janelle Marshall placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.81), while Kevyere Mack added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (55.13).
Field events saw multiple standout performances. Kelsey Hutchins won the triple jump with a mark of 11.55 meters, while Nakeita Kessling placed second (11.36m). Yoanny Espinoza added a seventh-place finish. On the men's side, Rayvon Wright captured first in the triple jump (13.83m) and placed third in the high jump (1.96m).
Karlee Zumstein earned a runner-up finish in the high jump with a PR of 1.60 meters.
In the pole vault, Colleen Johnson tied for No. 3 all-time in program history with a PR clearance of 3.90 meters to place second. Emma Ponx (3.75m) and Kelly Fern (3.60m) also posted strong marks, while Nino Romeo recorded a season-best 4.15 meters on the men's side.
In the throws, Kamaya McDuffy recorded a PR in the hammer throw (34.59m) and added a season-best mark in the shot put (11.27m). Franka Weil-Restrepo also notched a personal best in the shot put (11.21m).
In the horizontal jumps, Cage Davison placed second in the long jump (6.76m), while Matthew Thomas finished fifth (6.03m).
Western Illinois will look to carry this momentum into the Huskie Classic next week at NIU.Â
