MACOMB, IL – At last year's OVC Outdoor Championships, Western Illinois earned key podium finishes across both track and field events. Arnie Grunert highlighted the meet with a men's pole vault title at 5.20m, while Cage Davison (3rd, 7.36m) and Toriano Tate (4th, 7.32m) scored in the long jump. Logan Beckmier also added a podium finish in the 10,000m (3rd, 32:41.25).
On the women's side, Emma Ponx led with a third-place pole vault at 3.98m, setting a new program record. Nakeita Kessling (3rd, triple jump) and Aylana Cezar (3rd, steeplechase) also earned podium finishes, while Mya Hippolyte placed third in the 100m (11.74) after qualifying in 11.71.
The men finished seventh overall and the women placed 10th.The Leathernecks enter this year's championships aiming to take another step forward on the conference stage in Little Rock.
