  • Alfred D. Boyer Stadium has been a difficult place for opponents to win games over the past five seasons. Western Illinois has finished above .500 at home in three of the past five seasons.
  • Western Illinois will look to win its home opener on Friday for the first time since the 2018 season when they beat North Dakota State 2-0.
  • Chandler Fochs will get the start in the home opener for WIU. The Wausau, Wis., native ranks fourth on the team in innings pitched and WHIP and third in strikeouts.

The sweep helped the Bison extend their winning streak to six. Logan Williams has been on a home run tear as of late for NDSU, hitting seven in his past six games. His ten home runs rank first in the Summit League. North Dakota State's pitching staff has been the main story for their season, ranking second in the conference in team ERA at 4.04. All three expected starters for NDSU this weekend rank in the top 10 in ERA in the Summit League.
