MACOMB, IL. – Western Illinois senior outfielder Justin Bogard has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Jostens, recognizing his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Now in its 78th year, the Ohio Valley Conference continues to build on the success that has made it the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I conference. Over those previous 77 years, the league has inspired student-athletes to realize their academic aspirations, maximize their athletics potential, and cultivate their leadership skills to prepare them for life beyond their collegiate experience.

As part of a partnership with Jostens, the OVC honors a student-athlete each week throughout the academic year who has excelled academically while also earning accolades on the playing surface.

Bogard exemplifies the complete student-athlete, making a strong impact for the Leathernecks while maintaining success in the classroom. His dedication to academics was recognized last year with selection to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
