MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois University Athletics fifth-year senior Liam Bushey has been named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Second Team following a standout 2026 season for the Leathernecks.
Bushey put together one of the top offensive seasons in the conference, starting all 53 games while leading Western Illinois with a .338 batting average, 15 home runs, 59 RBIs, and a .637 slugging percentage. He also totaled 68 hits, 15 doubles, 50 runs scored, and posted a .461 on-base percentage.
The fifth-year senior finished among the top offensive players in the OVC this season, ranking fourth in RBIs and seventh in slugging percentage while also placing among the conference's top 15 hitters in batting average. Bushey was also one of just five players in the OVC to hit at least 15 home runs during the 2026 campaign.
Defensively, Bushey recorded a .987 fielding percentage with 369 putouts and helped turn 21 double plays at first base.
Bushey becomes one of the latest Leathernecks to earn all-conference recognition under head coach Terry Davis and caps off his career with one of the strongest offensive seasons in the conference this year.
