Biography

SENIOR (2022): Started each of his 49 season appearances, recording 58 hits across 192 plate appearances for a .302 average that was second-best on the team and top-20 among Summit League hitters… 10 doubles, including two against St. Thomas on April 29… team-leader in RBIs with 27…  16 multi-hit performances on the season, including five games with three or more… season-high four RBIs against Northern Colorado on May 7… led the team in extra-base hits with 12 and was second on the team in stolen bases with 17.

JUNIOR (2021): Contributed nicely during his first year with the Purple and Gold... made 19 starts in 23 appearances... finished with 14 hits, 14 runs scored, and seven RBI... crossed home plate three times at Saint Louis (March 13)... walked twice versus Omaha (May 20).

BEFORE WESTERN: Played at McHenry County College… appeared in 48 games… had 42 RBI and 50 runs… ended with a career line of .365/.465/.494… stolen 13 bags… hit three home runs… drew 31 walks.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned two varsity letters in baseball at Crystal Lake South… won 4A State Championship in 2017… member of the varsity football and basketball team.

PERSONAL: Born October 6, 1998… son of Kraig and Allison Olsen… choose WIU since “I have a lot of family that went to Western and I appreciated that the coaching staff communicated well during the early part of the pandemic.”... says favorite sports memory was winning the state championship his senior year… plans to major in communications.
