Biography

SENIOR (2022): Summit League All-Academic Team ... Made 13 appearances, all starts… Led the team with 73.2 innings pitched and 60 strikeouts… Had an ERA of 6.11 and 1.72 WHIP…Had season-long outings of eight innings against Omaha (4/22) and Northern Colorado (5/7)… Had a season-high 10 strikeouts against North Dakota State (4/2).

2021: Ten starts and appearances on the mound... pitched a team-high 58.1 innings and carried a team-low ERA of 4.47... posted a 2-4 record... struck out 39 batters... put away ten hitters at North Dakota State (April 9).

JUNIOR (2020): Started four games… totaled 19.1 innings… led the team in strikeouts (18)... tossed 5.0 innings and struck out seven at Butler (Feb. 23).

SOPHOMORE (2019): Pitched in 18 games with 11 starts… picked up first career win against Oral Roberts (April 5)... had back-to-back wins in starts versus Oral Roberts (April 5) and PFW (April 12)... threw four innings to earn first career save against SEMO (Feb. 22)... had both saves in a doubleheader at Saint Louis (March 8)... team-high three saves…finished second on the team in strikeouts (74), innings (87.2) and games started (11)... third on the team with three wins… struck out a career-high ten on March 26 vs. NDSU… pitched a career-high 7.2 innings against PFW (March 12)... scored a run at SEMO (Feb. 24). 

FRESHMAN (2018): Summit League Academic Honor Roll ... Appeared in 13 games with one start … made his Leatherneck debut at Middle Tennessee State (Feb. 18) where he pitched an inning; allowing one hit and one earned run while striking out two … earned his first career start vs. Bradley (April 4) … tossed a season-high 2.2 innings in Western’s 4-3 victory over Maryville (March 21) … finished the year 0-2 with a 9.64 ERA in 18.2 innings … struck out 14 hitters on the season

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Ron Adams ... was a member of the Club Rockford Baseball Academy under coach Dennis Scarpetta

PERSONAL: Son of Jim and Kim Warkentien

STATS & AWARDS: All-State Academic… Big Northern Conference All-Conference honors… BNC 'Pitcher of the year'… went 8-1 with two saves last spring… 107 strikeouts and a 0.70 ERA… batted .489 on the year.
