Leatherneck Football Has 48 on MVFC Honor Roll

Taylor Hill and Eddy Holtschlag earn the President’s Council Academic Award

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Valley Football Conference announced the 2015 Academic Honor Roll on Friday (June 24), and Western Illinois was represented with 48 student-athletes on the list. Taylor Hill (Rochester/Rochester) and Eddy Holtschlag (Quincy/Notre Dame) earned the conference's highest academic achievement by capturing the MVFC President's Council Academic Excellence Award.
 
The Academic Excellence Award requires a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (through Fall 2015 semester) and participation in athletics a minimum of two years. The student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.
 
Forty-eight members of the program were named to the Honor Roll, meeting the requirements of a 3.0 grade point average for Fall 2015, be a member of the football team, and a minimum of 12 hours enrollment during the fall.
 
Of the 48 on the Honor Roll, nine earned the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award. Recipients met the required 3.2 grade point average for the previous two semesters.
