Western Illinois Women’s Golf Team Concludes Day One of Redbird Invitational

Sophomore Allie Leingang shot a 70 (-2) in round two and sits tied for 23rd

NORMAL, Ill. – Western Illinois women's golf wrapped up play in day one of the 2015 Redbird Invitational Sunday (September 6). The team sits in a tie for 13th with a two-round score of 640 (329-311).

Allie Leingang leads the team with a two-round score of 155. The sophomore fired an 85 in the first round before bouncing back and carding a 70 (-2) during the second 18 holes.

Anna Cullinan and Allison Farrell sit T52nd and T62nd, respectively. Cullinan owns a score of 161 (79-82) and Farrell holds a 163 (84-79) heading into day two.

Sitting tied for 80th is Jessica Schultz and Alex Krehbiel with scores of 166. Schultz hits marks of 81 and 85 in the two rounds, and Krehbiel recorded scores of 86 and 80.

Competing as an individual was freshman Mariah Peters. Peters holds a 175 and is tied for 86th after day one.

The third and final round is set to be played tomorrow.
