MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois baseball will play host to Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Tuesday (April 14) in a doubleheader at Alfred D. Boyer Stadium.

The Leathernecks look to break out of a four-game slump against the Panthers in two seven-inning games set to start at 1 p.m. J.T. Baksha will get the start in game one with Nick Smith making his second start of the season in game two.

LAST TIME OUT: The weekend of April 10-12, Western Illinois played host to Summit League-leading Oral Roberts... Western also hosted alumni weekend that featured visits to Macomb from alumni representing each decade of WIU baseball... ORU swept the three-game weekend series... In game one the Golden Eagles used a six-run fifth inning and seven-run seventh to end the game early by a score of 19-1... JJ Reimer represented the Leathernecks' lone run, driven in by Brent Turner in the second inning... Turner notched two hits in the game including his sixth double of the season... Game two of the series was on Saturday, and ORU stayed hot at the plate, winning 10-0 in seven innings... Mark Garton led the WIU offense, going two-for-two at the plate with a pair of singles... In game three ORU carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning... Turner laid down a bunt single to break up the bid... The Golden Eagles manufactured five runs over nine innings to take the game and sweep the weekend... Turner added a stolen base to lead Western at the plate... This series marks the first sweep in Summit League play for the Purple and Gold this season.

A LOOK AT MILWAUKEE: The Panthers come into Macomb following a Horizon League series loss to Illinois-Chicago in Milwaukee, Wisconsin... UWM took game one, 4-1, before dropping games two and three 5-0 and 4-3... Milwaukee currently sits fourth in the Horizon League... The Panthers are led by ninth-year head coach Scott Doffek... Doffek led UWM to the Horizon League regular-season title in 2013 and garnered Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association College 'Coach of the Year' honors in the same year... Senior outfielder Sam Koenig leads the Panther offense, batting .422 with seven home runs, 30 RBIs, and 31 runs scored... Left-handed pitcher Justin Langley serves as the UWM ace with an ERA of 3.69 along with four wins, one loss, and 40 strikeouts... Austin Schulfer is projected to get the game one start... Schulfer has a 1.35 ERA in three appearances and 6.2 innings pitched... Alex McIntosh will start game two with a 2-1 record in one start and five appearances... McIntosh boasts a 3.27 ERA over 11 innings of work and 12 strikeouts.

SERIES HISTORY: Western and Milwaukee have met four times prior... All four contests were played in Macomb as a set of doubleheaders in 1994 and 1999... The last meeting came on March 20, 1999... UWM swept the doubleheader, winning 9-4 and 21-5... Western's lone win over the Panthers came on April 9, 1994 in game two of the doubleheader... The final score of WIU's win was 6-5.

UP NEXT: Western looks to begin the second half of its Summit League schedule this weekend (April 17-18) at Fort Wayne... The Leathernecks will look to bounce back from a series loss to the Mastodons earlier this season... Following the three-game set in Indiana, WIU will head to Peoria, Illinois for a single game against Bradley on Wednesday, April 22.

ANYTHING YOU DO WESTERN DOES BETTER: WIU and UWM have both faced off against the nationally-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes this season... Western faced then-No. 24 Iowa on April 1 at Alfred D. Boyer Stadium in Macomb... The Leathernecks downed the Hawkeyes 16-5 in seven innings... UWM faced No. 15 Iowa in Iowa City on April 8... The Panthers won the contest by just one run, 4-3.

ANOTHER SUMMIT LEAGUE 'PLAYER OF THE WEEK': On April 6 Colton Pogue was named The Summit League Baseball 'Player of the Week'... The freshman's first career honor comes for his efforts from March 30 - April 5... Pogue is the first freshman in program history to be named 'Player of the Week' on the offensive side... Aaron Michel earned 'Pitcher of the Week' honors as a freshman in 2013.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS: On April 4 on the road against Omaha, senior left-handed pitcher Tyler Owings earned his record-breaking 10th career save... Owings came on in the eighth inning with the tying run on deck and retired the final five Mavericks to get the save... The record was previously held by current minor-leaguer Brian Loconsole.

FRESHMAN PHENOM: Freshman second baseman, Colton Pogue's has recently exploded at the plate... His offensive outburst against No. 24 Iowa on April 1 puts the him in the Western record books... The Blue Springs, Mo. native's six RBI ties him for third for most RBI in a game in Western history... Pogue's eighth-inning grand slam is also the first one in just under a year, since Adam McGinnis against Fort Wayne on April 13, 2014... Against Omaha (April 3-5) Pogue hit two more doubles and added another home run.

PLEASE SIR, WE WANT SOME MOORE: Senior outfielder Jake Moore leads the Leathernecks with four home runs this season, and is tied for second in The Summit League... His fourth came against Omaha on April 5 in an 8-4 win for Western... Moore has also posted a career-high seven game hitting streak... Earlier in the season the Romeo, Michigan native posted a, then career-high, six game hit streak... He also leads WIU in RBIs and hits.
