The Fighting Leathernecks (8-14, 4-2) clinched the No. 2 seed in The Summit League Tournament despite dropping both of their weekend matches.
Western Illinois dropped its first match of the weekend to Oral Roberts by a 4-3 score on Saturday. The Leathernecks won three of the six singles matches before Oral Roberts clinched the match with victories in two of three hard-fought doubles matches.

About three times this afternoon, I thought we had the match, and about three times I thought Oral Roberts had it."
The Leathernecks held an early 3-0 advantage after Patrick Hammers, Francisco Ortiz and Jim Capalbo picked up wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Oral Roberts came back to tie the match at 3-3 with wins at the other singles flights. Western Illinois went up in doubles play as Alejandro Buceta and Ben Yue won their match at No. 3 doubles (8-2) before the Golden Eagles won the final two doubles matches to seal the victory.
