LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Five Western Illinois track and field athletes concluded the 2009 outdoor season at the NCAA Mideast Regional, May 29-30.
The Leathernecks and Westerwinds were the only athletes representing The Summit League in their respective events.
In Friday's competition, Nichole Manning reached a mark of 12-00.00 (3.66m) in the pole vault. The sophomore tied for 24th place. Later in the day, Brian Pinta finished the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 53.76, good enough for 17th place.
Saturday, Blair Hadnott competed in the triple jump and reached a mark of 47-05.00 (14.45m), which landed him 21st place. Â
Mary Kate Jackson finished the schedule of events for Western with the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She finished the event with a time of 11:48.02.
The NCAA Regional event finalized the 2009 outdoor track and field season for Western Illinois.
