GALESBURG, Ill - The Western Illinois men's tennis team went undefeated in this weekends competition against the University of Missouri at St. Louis, 7-0, Friday, March 23, and St. Ambrose, 7-0, Saturday, March 24.

Junior Martin Boström took both No. 1 singles matches, 6-1, 6-4, over UMSL and 6-0, 6-0, over SAU. At the No. 4 singles spot, junior Andy Jones defeated UMSL, 7-6 (3), 6-2, and SAU, 6-1, 6-0.

"We earned two good wins this weekend, especially against UMSL, they're a quality team," head coach Michael Hunt said. "I was very happy with Andy's play. He was very patient and grinded out his matches. We think that's what he needs to do in order to be successful."

In doubles play, Boström and senior Drew Forsberg picked up wins over UMSL in the No. 3 position and the No. 2 spot against SAU. Seniors Josh Wittenberg and Justin Junck took wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 positions.

The Leathernecks will travel to DeKalb, Ill. to take on the Huskies of Northern Illinois University Thursday, March 29, at 2 p.m.
