MACOMB, Ill. – Five members of the Western Illinois University bowling program were recognized for their excellence in the classroom, earning National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year.
The NTCA announced that 405 student-athletes from 68 NCAA bowling programs earned All-Academic Scholar-Athlete recognition. The award honors collegiate bowlers who have demonstrated outstanding academic success while competing at the highest level of collegiate bowling. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.4 grade point average during the academic year.
Western Illinois' five honorees represent a strong commitment to academic achievement and excellence both on the lanes and in the classroom.
"We are striving to be a winning program both on the lanes and in the classroom," said WIU Bowling Head Coach Derek Sapp. "We applaud all our student-athletes for their hard work."

The recognition highlights the continued dedication of Western Illinois bowling student-athletes to balancing the demands of collegiate athletics and academics.
The National Tenpin Coaches Association serves as the governing coaches association for NCAA women's bowling and is dedicated to promoting the growth and success of the sport both competitively and academically.
