LAST TIME OUT | Western Illinois concluded competition at the Big Red Invitational with an 11th-place finish, posting a 174.7 team average across 64 games. Jaydyn Hunting paced the team with a 185.0 average and high games of 225 and 222, while Angela Steinke (180.33) and Maleena Moreno (176.17) contributed steady production. Western Illinois wrapped up the tournament with an 11th-place showing, defeating Quincy 989–810 in the championship bracket, gaining valuable experience against elite competition.

ABOUT THE LEATHERNECKS | Western Illinois University bowling is set to begin the season with eight new additions to the roster.
The Leathernecks welcome a mix of experience and fresh talent to the program this year. Joining the team are senior Melina Eresby of Villahermosa, Mexico; freshman Skylar Houseman of Moline, Illinois; sophomore Skylar Huber of Bradshaw, Nebraska; freshman Jaydyn Hunting of Lexington, Kentucky; and freshman Maleena Moreno of San Antonio, Texas. Also joining the squad are freshman Angela Steinke of Rothschild, Wisconsin, and graduate student Cassidy Williams of New Ulm, Minnesota.
The program will be led by head coach Derek Sapp, a Western Illinois alumnus who competed on the Leatherneck men's bowling team. Sapp brings valuable experience to the role, most recently serving as the head bowling coach at Culver-Stockton College.
