WIU Women’s Golf Wraps Up Regular Season at Jan Weaver Invitational

Macomb, IL - The Western Illinois Women's Golf Team heads out to Murray, Kentucky to face off in the 2026 Jan Weaver Invitational, wrapping up their regular season. 

Previously

Western Illinois women's golf is coming off a steady showing at the YSU Spring Invitational, where the Leathernecks competed in a two-round event and displayed consistency throughout. After opening the tournament with Sophia Thorne (87, +17), Cianna Law (86, +16), and Dina Khvastovich (92, +22) pacing the lineup, WIU showed improvement in round two. Law and Khvastovich each carded strong rounds of 80 (+10), while Thorne added an 81 (+11) to close the event. Law and Thorne finished tied for 18th at +23, with Khvastovich placing 26th at +28.

Golf Course 

The Jan Weaver Invitational is held at the Miller Memorial Golf Course. The course is a par 71 with 18 rounds that plays 6,592 yards. The Jan Weaver Invitational is a two-round tournament that will kick off Saturday morning. 

Competition

Southern Indiana, Lindenwood, Murray State, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Tennessee State, Belmont, Austin Peay

About the Competition

Southern Indiana: Southern Indiana has typically posted a team scoring average in the 315–325 range, putting them in the middle tier of OVC scoring.

Lindenwood: ​​Lindenwood averages 6–10 birdies per round as a team.

Murray State: Murray State is one of the stronger scoring teams in this group, often posting 300–312 team scores in competitive fields.

SIU-Carbondale: SIU generally posts team scores in the 305–315 range.

Tennessee State: TSU averages 4–8 birdies per round.

Belmont: Belmont typically posts team scores between 300–310, making them one of the more consistent teams in this group.

Austin Peay: APSU averages 8–12 birdies per round, with scoring spread more evenly across the lineup.
