MACOMB, IL- The Western Illinois University men's golf team finished their season this week at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament out in West Lafayette, Indiana. The tournament was a three-round game, covering 54 holes.
Day 1:
Western Illinois opened play with a solid start, led by Mateo Rascon and Owen Howe's 69 (-2). Julian Ortiz followed with a 73 (+2). Nathan Tillman added a 77 (+6), with Easton Korell rounding out the day with a 78 (+7).
Day 2:
The Leathernecks responded with a strong showing in round two, highlighted by Owen Howe and Bayden Hubacher both recording a perfect par of 71. Mateo Rasco followed behind with a hole-in-one, scoring 74 (+3). Easton Korell recorded a score of 74 (+3), and Julian Ortiz rounded out the day with a 76 (+5) each.
Day 3:
WIU continued to show their strength through round three, with Easton Korell taking the lead with a 74 (+3). Mateo Rascon recorded a 76 (+5), with Owen Howe following closely behind with 78 (+7). Julian Ortiz recorded an 80 (+9), with Bayden Hubacher wrapping up the tournament with an 81 (+10).
