MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois women's golfers Aradhana Manikandan and Laura Cheng Milsgaard were named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfers of the Week following their performances at the Butler Fall Invitational.
The freshman teammates each finished tied for 11th in a field of 87 golfers at the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis.
Manikandan, a native of Mumbai, India, carded rounds of 72, 74 and 72 to finish at 218 (+8). Milsgaard, from Copenhagen, Denmark, opened with a 78 before following with rounds of 71 and 69 to also finish at 218 (+8).
The pair finished just two strokes outside the top five and helped the Leathernecks finish ahead of two fellow OVC programs in the 14-team field.
Through six rounds this fall, Manikandan currently ranks first in the OVC with a 74.8 scoring average, while Milsgaard ranks third at 75.5.
The weekly honor marks another strong showing for the two freshmen, who have quickly established themselves among the conference's top golfers during their first collegiate season
