Leathernecks Set to Host Western Cup

MACOMB, IL. – Western Illinois men's and women's golf will compete in the Western Cup on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 30-31, as the Leathernecks welcome teams to Macomb for their annual home tournament. The event marks the final competition of the fall season for both programs before returning to the course in the spring.

The men's team enters the tournament following a 10th-place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational. D'Arcy Whyte led the Leathernecks, finishing tied for 14th at even par, while Owen Howe and Adam Murphy each finished tied for 25th at four-over par.

The women's team looks to close out the fall season on a strong note after a ninth-place finish at the Butler Invitational. Milsgaard and Manikandan led the Leathernecks, each earning a tie for 11th place individually. Both golfers also earned OVC Co-Golfer of the Week honors following their performances.

The Western Cup gives both teams one final opportunity to compete at home before wrapping up the fall schedule and turning their attention toward the spring season.
