Leathernecks Set for Butler Fall Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The Western Illinois women's golf team returns to action tomorrow at the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Golf Club.

The Leathernecks enter the tournament following an eighth-place finish at the Brittany Kelly Classic, hosted by Ball State at The Players Club at Woodland Trails.

Sophia Thorne led Western Illinois in the team's most recent tournament, finishing tied for 33rd overall. Thorne closed the tournament with a 1-over 73, recording four birdies in her final round.

Freshman Aradhana Manikandan also turned in a strong performance in her first tournament with the Leathernecks, finishing tied for 31st overall after carding a 2-over 74 in the final round.

Laura Milsgaard added a steady performance at the Brittany Kelly Classic, shooting an even-par 72 in the second round and finishing tied for 44th overall.

Western Illinois looks to build on its opening tournament performance as the Leathernecks continue the 2026-27 season tomorrow at the Butler Fall Invitational.
