MACOMB, IL - Leatherneck Track and Field announces the 2026 outdoor season schedule. The schedule begins March 26–27 in St. Louis, Missouri, where Western Illinois will compete in the Distance Carnival hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. The following weekend, March 27–28, the Leathernecks travel to Charleston, Illinois, for the Big Blue Classic hosted by Eastern Illinois.
April competition starts April 3–4 at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana, hosted by Indiana State. After a short break, Western Illinois returns to action April 17–18 at the Meet of Champions in Rock Island, Illinois, hosted by Augustana.
The Leathernecks will split competition April 23–25, with athletes competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, from April 23–25, while others travel to Indianola, Iowa, for the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College on April 24–25.
Western Illinois competes in two more regular-season meets to close the schedule. The Leathernecks head to Champaign, Illinois, on May 1 for the Gary Wienke Invite hosted by Illinois, followed by the NIU Huskie Classic on May 8 in DeKalb, Illinois.
The season ends with the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, scheduled for May 14–16.
