MACOMB, Ill.- Western Illinois bowling turned in its strongest team scoring performance of the season at the Flyer Classic in Lockport, Illinois, finishing 17th in a stacked 26-team field while posting the program's highest team average of the year at 183 pins per game.
The Leathernecks battled through a demanding format that featured both Baker and traditional team matches, picking up five match wins over the three-day event. WIU showed steady improvement as the tournament progressed, highlighted by a strong traditional-team stretch where the lineup topped the 1,000-pin mark and stayed competitive with several nationally ranked programs.

Competing against multiple top-10 programs, WIU used the weekend to gain momentum and confidence, turning in their most complete scoring performance of the year as the postseason push approaches.
The Leathernecks will hit the road on February 20th to compete in the Nebraska Big Red Invite in Omaha, Nebraska.
