MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois Women's Soccer has announced the addition of Justin Evans as an assistant coach ahead of the upcoming season.
Evans brings a strong background in player development, goalkeeping instruction, and program leadership at the collegiate, club, and high school levels.
A native of Ohio, Evans earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Shawnee State University before completing his master's degree in Sport Management at Ohio Dominican University.
His passion for the game began early, starting club soccer at age five. Evans went on to serve as team captain at Brookhaven High School, earning First Team All-City honors, before continuing his playing career at the University of Rio Grande.
Most recently, Evans served as Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer at Ohio Dominican University from 2023–2026. Alongside his collegiate coaching experience, he has been heavily involved at the club level as a Coach, Goalkeeper Director, and Sponsorship/Tournament Coordinator with Barcelona United Soccer Club since 2023.
Evans also brings extensive high school head coaching experience, including serving as Head Coach at Rock Hill High School (2022–2023) and Whetstone High School (2020), while spending five seasons as JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant at Whetstone from 2015–2020. He began his collegiate coaching career as a Student Assistant Coach with the Shawnee State University women's soccer program from 2021–2022.
Highly credentialed in coaching education, Evans holds the United Soccer Coaches Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma, Advanced National Diploma, and Foundations of Coaching Diploma, along with a USSF C License. He is currently pursuing his USSF B License, which he is expected to obtain by June 30, 2026.
Evans' addition strengthens WIU Women's Soccer's commitment to player development and competitive success as the Leathernecks continue building toward the upcoming season.
