Nour Gueblaoui Receives Accelerating Academic Success Program Award

MACOMB, Ill- Women's Tennis player Nour Gueblaoui has been named an Accelerating Academic Success Program honoree by the NCAA. She is one of only four student-athletes in the country to receive this award.

The four recipients received recognition this week at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. Award requirements include attending an AASP-eligible school; being a sophomore or higher; having a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher; being eligible for athletics competition; and being eligible to attend two NCAA professional development events — the Career in Sports Forum and the annual AASP Conference. The NCAA Career in Sports Forum provides more than 200 student-athletes with career direction and insight, while the AASP Conference provides limited-resource schools with tools and ideas to guide student-athletes toward academic success and graduation. The award recipients are slated to attend the AASP Conference in September.

The AASP Student-Athlete Career Development Award provides student-athletes who are pursuing careers in intercollegiate athletics with direct access to select NCAA student-athlete professional development programming this year. Through the program, the NCAA has awarded more than $1 million annually to schools with limited financial resources in an effort to help them meet NCAA academic standards. The grant dollars assist the Division I schools as they develop programs and systems to increase graduation rates and to ensure student-athletes' academic success.

Gueblaoui, a native of Monastir, Tunisia just wrapped up her Junior year at WIU. Gueblaoui is majoring in General Studies and has helped her team win the most matches in a season since the 2017-2018 season. She went 12-5 in singles play during the 2025 season for the Leathernecks, dropping only one of her Conference matches out of seven total matches. Gueblaoui was also an OVC preseason Doubles Player to watch and won Doubles players of the week with her teammate, Richardlyne Francois, on April 15.
