MACOMB, Ill.- The Leathernecks wrapped up their regular season in Edwardsville against the SIUE Cougars, falling 2-5. The Leathernecks wrap up their regular season, recording a record of 6-12, 3-2 in conference.
WIU fell short in the doubles matches, with Mana Fawcett and Jessica Hess at No.1 doubles, with a score of 2-6. At No. 2 doubles, Nadezhda Petkova and Nour Gueblaoui dropped the match 4-6.
In the singles matches, the Leathernecks fought through, with Mana Fawcett winning at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Richardlyne Francois also put up a tough fight, winning 2-6, 6-1, 1-0. At No. 1, Chloe Routier fell short, recording 2-6, 3-6. At No.4, Nour Gueblaoui pushed through, falling 2-6, 2-6. At No. 5 singles, Jessica Hess fell short, 0-6, 3-6, with Nadezhda Petkova rounding out the match at No. 6 singles, 3-6, 0-6.
The Leathernecks will go on to the OVC tournament, where they will hit the road to St. Louis Missouri from April 17-19.
