MACOMB, Ill.- The Leathernecks wrapped up their season in St. Louis on Friday afternoon against Lindenwood in the OVC Tournament.
WIU took the point during the doubles match, with Mana Fawcett and Jessica Hess winning at No. 1 doubles, 7-5. At No. 3 singles, Chloe Routier and Richardlyne Francois won 7-6, and the tiebreaker 7-0.
In singles play, the Leathernecks battled but ultimately came up short. At No. 1, Chloe Routier fell 6-0, 1-6, 2-6, while Richardlyne Francois dropped a three-set match at No. 3, 2-6, 6-1, 1-6. Jessica Hess also went to three sets at No. 5 before falling 6-3, 1-6, 2-6. At No. 6, Nadezhda Petkova narrowly missed a win, dropping 7-6 (7-1), 2-6, 5-7. Matches at No. 2 and No. 4, featuring Mana Fawcett and Nour Gueblaoui, were left unfinished.
