Leatherneck Women’s Tennis Head to OVC Tournament to Face #4 Lindenwood

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois University women's tennis team heads off to St. Louis for their postseason to face off in the OVC Tournament. This is the third season under coach Luke Ogren. Last year, the Leathernecks went 12-9 overall, and are currently 6-12, 3-2 conference.

WHERE | Dwight Davis Tennis Center, St. Louis, MO

PREVIOUSLY | The Leathernecks wrapped up their regular season in Edwardsville against SIUE, falling 2–5 to the Cougars. In singles action, the Leathernecks picked up two wins, as Fawcett earned a 6–4, 6–4 victory at No. 2 singles and Richardlyne Francois battled through a three-set win, 2–6, 6–1, 1–0. 

LINDENWOOD vs WIU HISTORY | The matchup between the Western Illinois Leathernecks and Lindenwood has been tight in recent years. The two teams have split their last four meetings, with WIU earning wins in 2023 and 2025. Lindenwood responded with wins in 2024 and 2026, taking a 6-1 win in the latest matchup. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH | Mana Fawcett made her mark by earning a spot on the All-OVC first team after her performance. Fawcett also earned a spot with Jessica Hess on the All-OVC Doubles team. Chloe Routier punched a spot for her performance this season by joining the All-OVC Second Team.
