Leathernecks Cross Country To Race at Regionals at Oklahoma State

MACOMB, IL –The Western Illinois University cross country program is set to compete in the NCAA Regional Meet. The Leathernecks will have 5 men competing as well as 6 women. 

The meet will be held in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The women begin the day running a 6K at 9 A.M. while the men follow at 10 A.M. running a 10K

Western Illinois cross country closed out its 2025 season with a strong team performance at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Friday morning, as both the men's and women's squads recorded multiple personal bests and season highlights.

In the women's 6k, Lydia Bennett led the way with an outstanding run of 21:38.10, a personal record that ranks third all-time in program history and earned her an eighth-place finish. Minori Hudson followed with a PR of 22:41.09 to place 31st, while Emma Kate Watt ran a personal-best 22:45.14 for 34th. Aurora Dominguez clocked a PR of 22:52.06 to take 37th, and Finley Hancock added another PR with a time of 22:59.71, finishing 42nd.

Rounding out the lineup, Aylana Cezar (23:09.07, 47th), Lily Patterson (23:37.99, 60th), Ellie Eastman (23:42.26, 63rd), Ava Gorrie (23:57.84, 67th), and Cassandra Brushaber (24:26.02, PR, 75th) all contributed strong efforts to help the Leatherneck women finish sixth overall in the team standings.

On the men's side, Logan Beckmier paced Western Illinois with a personal-best time of 25:23.65, placing 26th overall in the 8k. Robert Perry followed in 41st with a time of 25:48.53, and Brody Harker ran a PR of 25:57.35 to finish 44th. Eason Comer clocked a personal-best 26:35.56 to take 60th, while Evan Eberhart ran 27:13.52 for 72nd. Richard Brown rounded out the lineup with a time of 28:28.64, placing 81st.

The Leatherneck men finished eighth overall, wrapping up a championship meet full of personal records and strong progress throughout the season for both teams.
