Leathernecks Claim Two Titles, Post Multiple Top-10 Marks at Conference Meet

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois track and field came away with two event titles and multiple additions to the program record book at this weekend's conference meet. The Leathernecks finished tied for sixth on the men's side and seventh on the women's side.

Emma-Kate Watt led the way with a conference title in the 3000-meter steeplechase, winning in 10:54.36. Her time set a facility record and moved her to No. 3 in program history. On the men's side, Rayvon Wright captured the triple jump title with a personal-best 15.09 meters, which ranks No. 7 all-time at Western Illinois. Wright also placed second in the high jump.

The Leathernecks added several podium finishes across the meet. Dana Surwillo finished second in the pole vault, while Emma Ponx placed third. Toriano Tate took second in the long jump with a mark of 7.60 meters, moving to No. 6 in program history. Maleigha Huston added a third-place finish in the 800 meters (2:09.90).

On the track, Zearra Milburn placed fifth in the 400 meters and ran 56.89 in the prelims, a personal best that ranks No. 8 all-time. Alyssa Adeoti also recorded a personal best in the event. Kevyere Mack finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best 54.24, while Janelle Marshall added a PR in the prelim round.

In the distance events, Watt's title highlighted a steady group performance that included a sixth-place finish from Eason Comer in the men's steeplechase. The women's 4x100 relay placed fourth and recorded the No. 2 time in program history. The women's 4x400 relay finished fifth, while the men's 4x100 and 4x400 teams placed sixth and eighth, respectively.

In the field events, Cage Davison (7.45m) and Kesley Hutchins (11.92m) each recorded personal-best marks that now rank among the top 10 in program history. Western Illinois closed the meet with two titles, multiple scoring performances, and continued movement in the program's all-time rankings.
