MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois Cross Country teams have their second meet on Saturday, September 19th, at the John McNichols invitational, which is hosted at Indiana State.

The Leathernecks will be looking to continue their success from the Husky Classic, where the Women's team was able to place 2nd out of 5 teams, and also place 4 girls in the top 10. The Men's team also placed 3 inside of the top 15, and all of the top 5 runners in the top 20.

There will be 10 Women and 9 Men competing this weekend, with the Women's 6k at 8:30 AM, and the Men's 8k at 9:05 AM.

Western Illinois will also be debuting their brand new white jerseys at this meet, showing off how the program is developing under Matt Rosado.

Coach Rosado had a lot to say regarding the meet and uniforms, about the meet he said, "Since our last race we've been preparing to take another step closer to our overall team goals, this weekend will provide us another opportunity to test ourselves amongst some of the toughest teams in the country on one of the nicest courses available for XC. I look forward to seeing our preparations come to life".

About the new jerseys he said,  "Putting on these jerseys for the first time at Indiana State is about more than a new look. It represents the work, commitment, and belief this group has invested in each other. We're excited to step on the line, represent Western Illinois, and compete the way we know we're capable of competing."  

This weekend will hopefully be a great experience for the Leathernecks, and will hopefully be a big building block for the team this season.
