MACOMB, IL- The Western Illinois golf teams wrapped up the Windy City Classic Invitational this afternoon, the women finishing the event in 8th place as a team with a standing of 692 (+116). The men placed 3rd, with a score of 928 +64.
Mateo Rascon led the men's team in scoring as he finished with a score of +7 for the tournament, tying for 2nd. Rascon's best round came in round 2 on Monday afternoon, where he recorded an even par score.
Owen Howe would finish just behind Rascon, shooting a +6 for the tournament and tying for 10th. Howe's best round came in round 1, where he ranked +16. Julian Ortiz shot +18 for the tournament, followed by Easton Korell (+26), and Bayden Hubacher (+28).
Cianna Law led the women's team in scoring, tying for 19th place with a score of +20. Sophia Thorne tied for 23rd place, with a total of +22. Dina Khvastovic followed, placing in 35th, with Libby Larkin placing in 39th.
The Leatherneck women's team is back in action October 13th and 14th at the Big O Classic in Omaha, Nebraska.
