Leathernecks Wrap Up Competitive Fall Stretch at Braun Intercollegiate

MACOMB, IL- The Western Illinois University women's golf team concluded its fall season Tuesday afternoon at the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate in Evansville, Indiana. The tournament was hosted by the University of Evansville at the Oak Meadow Country Club.

Day 1 (18 holes):
The Leathernecks opened play with a 357 team score in the first round. Leading WIU on Day 1 was sophomore Sophia Thorne, who shot an 84, followed by freshman Dina Khvastovic with a score of 89. Junior Libby Larkin and sophomore Cianna Law each recorded scores of 92 to round out the Leatherneck lineup.

Day 2 (18 holes):
Western Illinois closed out the tournament with a 359 team score in the final round, finishing with a two-round total of 716 (+140). Thorne paced the Leathernecks again with an 88, while Khvastovic matched her with an 88 of her own. Larkin posted a 91, and Law recorded a 92 to complete the scoring.

Final Results:
The Leathernecks concluded the Evansville Invitational with a 716 (+140) team total through 36 holes to close the 2025 fall season.

NEXT UP FOR WIU:
Western Illinois will return to action in the spring when the Leathernecks begin their 2026 slate, with tournament details to be announced at a later date.
