Coach Lia adds another big name to her recruiting class.

MACOMB, ILL.- Western Illinois women's golf added another new addition to the recruiting class, signing Marissa Spreitzer from Fishers, Ind.

"I'm excited to have Marissa join our team. She's had success at the high school level both with her team and indivually," said WIU Director of Golf Lia Biehl Lukkarinen. "Her athleticism and dedication will serve her well competing in division one golf. Marissa has an unlimited ceiling and will be a factor in our program's success."

Spreitzer competed for Hamilton Southeastern High School at the varsity level all four years and was a two-time all-conference recipient. She was named all-county in 2021 and went on to win an individual sectional championship. She shot a tournament-low round of 68 to help take first place. As a team, Hamilton Southeastern High School went on to take fifth at the Indiana State High School State Finals.

Along with her successful golf career in high school, Spreitzer was successful off the course. She holds a 3.8 GPA and has been a Hamilton Southeaster's student council member all four years.
