Back Again | It's been five years since the Western Illinois men's track and field team competed at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships.

Richard Brown and Ackeen Colley ended the drought with qualifications in the 800-meter run. The prelim marks back-to-back NCAA appearances for Colley, who also qualified for the NCAA Championships during the indoor season, and will be the first for Brown.

Meet Info | Due to COVID-19, the preliminary championships will have limited seating capacity. Tickets are available for purchase at E.B. Cushing Stadium one hour prior to the start of the first event on each meet day.

Races will be streamed on SEC Network Plus.

On to the Next | The 'Top 48' in the western region qualified for the preliminary meet, and the field will be cut in half after each round.

The 'Top 24' advance to the 800-meter quarterfinals, and the 'Top 12' from that race will head to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. (June 9-12).

All-Timers | Brown and Colley are in the midst of their debut season at Western Illinois and already sit No. 1 and No. 2 on the Leathernecks' all-time indoor and outdoor 800-meter lists. Their success in the race has made their names synonymous with victory, ringing even more true by their Summit League hardware.

Colley is the league's reigning indoor and outdoor 800-meter champion, while Brown placed second at the indoor meet and third at the indoor.
