Praises Continue to Roll in for Brasseur, Dickson

The two were named Summit League Academic All-League.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.Bo Brasseur and Johnny Dickson have seen their names attached to the highest of praise this 2020 indoor season. They have been added and moved about the Western Illinois track and field record book and boasted in recaps. 
 
This release will continue to applaud the two as they were named Summit League Academic All-League. The indoor announcement came Wednesday (March 25).

"The WIU track and field program is very honored to have Bo Brasseur and Johnny Dickson represent our program and to be recognized as 2020 Summit League All-Academic scholars," said head coach Diane Wholey. "They both do a tremendous job representing us, and I am certainly not surprised they put forth the same level of passion and work ethic in the classroom."

Brasseur wrapped her final indoor slate with a gold medal. She won four out of five long jump events she competed in this season (Hawkeye Invitational, Missouri Intercollegiate, GVSU Mike Lints Open, and Summit Championships) while also claiming three podium finishes in the 200-meter dash.
 
Her medaling performance in the long jump also tied for first on the league's 2020 performance list. The senior and Belgium native owned Western's fastest times in the 60-meter (8:01) and 200-meter (25.42) dashes this season, and the latter also ranks sixth all-time in WIU women's indoor history.

Dickson recorded Western's fastest 600 of the season with a time of 1:22.66; the speedy performance sits third all-time in Leatherneck history, while his 800 (1:57.41) ranked 17th best on the Summit's 2020 performance list.  
 
The Chicago native was a part of several 4x4s, anchoring the Leathernecks' fastest relay to a time of 3:22.46.
