The Leathernecks begin regular season competition Oct. 12 at home inside Brophy Hall

MACOMB, Ill. – After successful campaigns, the Western Illinois men's and women's swimming and diving teams announced their 2019-20 schedule.

"Our season is always marked with some incredibly fast teams like those who we will see at the House of Champions Invitational at IUPUI in November and the University of Iowa in February," head coach Greg Naumann said. "We have some racing in Sioux Falls at the facility we will see for the Summit League Championships.  The early meet in Sioux Falls will be great since we will see the conference championship site, but we will also race against South Dakota and South Dakota State. We will pick up a meet against Green Bay, which we haven't had a dual meet with for quite a few years, so that should be an interesting meet at home."

The Leathernecks begin the campaign at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 with the Purple & Gold/Alumni Meet inside Brophy Hall in Macomb. The regular season starts on Oct. 12 also at home where Western Illinois plays host to Green Bay. The Leathernecks compete at IUPUI against the host Jaguars and Olivet Nazarene one week later.

The Western Illinois women will square off on the road in a dual meet at Omaha at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 1. Both teams will compete in Sioux Falls, S.D., against South Dakota, South Dakota State and St. Cloud State. Saint Louis heads to Macomb again for a dual meet at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 inside Brophy Hall. The Purple & Gold close out the fall slate at the House of Champions meet hosted by IUPUI, Nov. 22-24 in Indianapolis.

Western Illinois kicks off 2019 away from home at Valparaiso on Saturday, Jan. 11 with a home women's dual meet to follow on Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. versus Northern Iowa. Truman State comes to Brophy Hall for the final home meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.

The Leathernecks conclude the regular season with a pair of road meets. They will compete at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 1 and at Iowa on Feb. 7. The 2020 Summit League Championships will be held from Feb. 19-22 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
