The Western Illinois men's swimming team's accomplishments were honored by the Summit League.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With the conclusion of the 2020 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships presented by the U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, the league announced its swimming and diving all-league teams Monday (Feb. 24). Western Illinois garnered recognition on the postseason list in its men's 200-yard medley relay team and several individual performances.

Brennan Bladel, Garret Kemp and Adam Peterson received all-league recognition twice. The trio joined Connor Owens in the 200-yard medley relay team that worked a third-place time of 1:31.75 -- before embarking on individual successes.

Bladel finished on the podium individually three times for his performances in the 200-yard IM (1:49.77, school record), 100-yard back (49.97, third in school history) and 200-yard back (1:48.20, school record).

Peterson found himself a spot on the podium with bronze in the 50-yard free (20.08, school record). Garret Kemp rounded out the Leathernecks placing with a bronze finish in the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.04, second in school history).

Bladel and Owens will both graduate and move on from the program in May.
