Brennan Bladel and Garret Kemp each earned a bronze medal as several teammates etched their names into the record book.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Western Illinois swimming and diving finished The Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare strong on Saturday (Feb. 22).

Several top-marks were set in the preliminary round. Anika Gram cracked the program's 'Top-10' in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.91 and Isaiah Pilhstrom also snagged 10th all-time in the 200-yard free (1:42.51).

Brennan Bladel and Adam Peterson each set school records in the preliminary round with Bladel swimming the 200-yard back in 1:49.88. Adam Peterson's 100-yard free mark of 44.87 would not last long. Peterson broke his own school mark for the second time in Sioux Falls with a finals time of 44.57.

Bladel stood on the podium for the fourth consecutive day with a 200-yard back final time of 1:48.20 for another bronze medal.

A pair of Western teammates touched the wall back-to-back in the 200-yard butterfly with Garret Kemp wrapping up first to claim a bronze medal at 1:51.04. That time moved Kemp up to second in program history. Tyler Cunningham completed the event in 1:51.92, just outside of medaling, yet still good enough for fifth in WIU history.

Senior Miranda Mathus closed out her Leatherneck career with a second-place finish in the consolation heat of 100-yard IM (59.92).
