Leathernecks Welcome North Dakota State to Alfred. D. Boyer Stadium

In their first true home Summit League series, the Leathernecks play host to North Dakota State

Watch Live: All three games versus North Dakota State will be streamed live. Catch Saturday's game on ESPN3 and the other two via Twitter webcasts @WIUBaseball

Western's Last Outing: Season-highs catapulted Western to a 16-3, seven-inning win over Iowa Wesleyan this past Tuesday. The home opener captured 16 hits and 16 runs for WIU while its pitching staff tabbed a season-high 13 strikeouts.

•    Kevin Raisbeck, Bailey Montgomery, and Grant Hannant each went 3-for-3 at the plate, and the latter two joined Drue Galassi in adding three RBI apiece
•    Chandler Fochs received his first collegiate start and was credited with the win in 3.0 innings of play; he added a career-high six strikeouts with two hits and one run
•    Freshmen Kyle Rosenfeld, Jordan Cheek, and Parker Hiedorf also made an appearance in the game

The Centerfielder: Drue Galassi is off to a hot start in his junior campaign. He paces the Leathernecks in several hitting categories: batting average (.263), hits (15), slugging percentage (.544), and RBI (17), and ranks second in the Summit in the latter area.

A season ago, he recorded a pair of home runs and has already surpassed the total with four this year. Two were registered in one game alone (South Dakota State, March 17).

Summit Standings: Leatherneck pitchers are currently 'Top 10' in several Summit League categories.

Javin Drake
Innings Pitched | 34.0 | 1st
Strikeouts | 38 | 1st
ERA | 3.97 | 7th

Jace Warkentien

Strikeouts | 25 | 8th
Inning Pitched | 25.2 | 8th

They'll Run: The Leathernecks have never been shy on the base paths, and currently lead The Summit League with 27 stolen bases.

Drue Galassi, Deion Thompson and Steve McShane each manage five swipes, and Thompson is perfect in the effort. On the opposite side of the equation, catcher CJ Schaeffer Jr. has caught nine runners stealing and guides The Summit in the category.

Streaks: Steve McShane and Drue Galassi are currently working a four-game hitting streak, one shy of tying the longest of the season created by Dillon Sears

Game Winners: CJ Schaeffer Jr. has three game-winners in his senior campaign, and the latest occurred in walk-off fashion against South Dakota State (March 16).

Game Winner No. 1 (at Southeast Missouri) | RBI single to right center broke a 2-2 stalemate in the 11th inning; Western won, 5-2.

Game Winner No. 2 (at Saint Louis) | Sent a two-out RBI single up the middle in the eighth inning of WIU's 5-4 win at SLU

Game Winner No. 3 (vs. South Dakota State) | First career grand slam helped Western to a 10-6 walk-off win

On Deck: The Leathernecks invite St. Ambrose to Alfred D. Boyer Stadium Tuesday at 3 p.m. before traveling to Omaha for their first Summit League road series.
