STILLWATER, Okla. –Western Illinois cross country maneuvered the recently renovated Oklahoma State course at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday (Nov. 15). Senior Nicole Beebe closed out her Leatherneck career by pacing the women's squad as Lucas Howett led the men's group.

"Nicole ran a well-executed race improving her placing from last year by 60 spots," cross country coach Brandon Hazouri said. "I think we learned a lot today about where we are as a team and it's important to have an honest assessment of where you are at so you can move forward. As a unit, I know we are motivated to continue to get better and I'm excited about our future."

Beebe finished 100th out of 235 competitors with a 6K time of 22:34.0 while Elyse Mathews crossed the finish line next for Western at 24:50.4. Not far behind was Jacey Roper running her fastest time of the season of 24:57.2.
