Last Time Out | The Leathernecks closed out non-league action with a shutout victory over Chicago State on Monday (Sept. 30).

The lone goal of the match came in the 59th minute. Cassidy Grunewald played a well-timed ball to Amy Andrews cutting into the far side of the box who unleashed a shot that couldn't be handled by the CSU goalkeeper for her team-leading fifth goal of the season. The assist marked Grunewald's third which leads the team.

Ten different Leathernecks guided the way as WIU outshot the Cougars 14-7.

Ines Palmiero Herrera stopped all three shots that the Cougars fired for her ninth victory to tie for sixth all-time in program history. The senior is now three more wins away from passing Samantha Clark (2006) for fifth all-time.

Reunited | Current graduate assistant coach, Nykosi Simmons, reunites with her former teammate and assistant coach Josee Primeau. The duo made a significant impact on the program at Mississippi Valley State.
