Women's Soccer Bolsters Roster with Three Signees

Lilly Doneghue, Lynette Hawkins and Malerie Rohweder help roster depth.

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois women's soccer addressed three different position needs on Thursday (Nov.15) following National Signing Day.
 
Lilly Doneghue | Goalkeeper | Sherman, Ill. (Williamsville)
 
High School: Attended Williamsville High School…4-year letterwinner for both the basketball and soccer teams…Currently ranks fourth in the IHSA for career saves and 18th in the IHSA for saves in a season...Helped Williamsville finish fourth at state as a freshman starting goalkeeper...First Team All-Sangamo Conference and All-State as a junior with 260 saves...Second Team All-Sangamo Conference for basketball as a junior...Regional and Sectional three-point shooting champion. 
 
Personal: Born Dec. 22, 2000…Daughter of Jill and Jeff Doneghue...Planning to pursue a degree in athletic training…Hobbies include working out, playing basketball and hanging out with friends. 
 
Assistant Coach Josee Primeau on Doneghue: "We are very excited to have Lilly join the Leatherneck family. She will be a good addition to our goalkeepers because of the work ethic she brings to every training session. She will help create a more competitive environment for our keepers."

Lynette Hawkins | Defender | Aurora, Colo. (Cherokee Trail)
 
High School: First Team All-League as a junior in 2017 at Cherokee Trail High School...Member of the Academic Honor Roll...Scored three goals her junior year and led the team in assists with 10.
 
Personal: Born Jan. 28, 2001…Daughter of Denise and Isaac Hawkins...Hobbies include drawing/painting and playing the guitar...Her father played football at Wyoming and her sister currently Elainya Hawkins currently plays soccer at Southern Utah. 
 
Coach Primeau on Hawkins: "Lynette will be a huge impact for us due to her athleticism, her pace, and her ability to take people on will be a huge benefit to our team."

Malerie Rohweder | Midfielder | Ankeny, Iowa (Ankeny)
 
High School: Played midfield and forward in high school...National Honors Society member...All-Conference Academic team.
 
Personal: Born Sept. 24, 2000… Daughter of Brett and Lauren Rohweder...Will pursue a degree in pre-dental…Her father played baseball at Ellsworth Community College...Her brothers Tanner and Carter wrestle at Northern Iowa...
 
Coach Primeau on Rohweder: "Malerie will be a good addition to our roster. She is a hard-working midfielder who, I believe, can make a big impact for our 2019 season."
