MACOMB, Ill.— Western Illinois plays host to Illinois College and William Woods this Sunday (Nov. 12) and Tuesday (Nov. 14) for a pair of non-Division I matchups. For Illinois College and William Woods, the contests against Western will be featured as exhibition matchups for their respective programs.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP CEREMONY:
This Sunday marks the Championship Ceremony for the 2016-17 women's basketball team, who was able to capture The Summit League Regular Season and Tournament Championships, along with a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 22 years. The celebration will take place prior to Sunday's game, which begins at 4:30.
 
GRAVINA CAPTURED 100th WIN:
Head coach JD Gravina earned his 100th win in the 90-71 season-opening win over UMKC as the head coach of Western Illinois. The win also marked the 214th of his career. He now 21 wins shy of passing Bea Yeager (121-155, 1971-1982) as the second-winningest coach in program history.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
Western Illinois picked up a 19-point win over UMKC in the season opener to start 1-0 on the season. The Leathernecks were led by the 21 points and 12 assists from Emily Clemens, while Morgan Blumer followed with 15 points and seven boards. Both Taylor Higginbotham and Olivia Kaufmann added 11, while Olivia Braun and Michelle Farrow chipped in 10. The last time the Leathernecks had five or more players score in double figures was March 4 of last season in the opening round of The Summit League Championship against Denver.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS COLLEGE:
The Lady Blues are led by second-year head coach Jennifer McCormick, who is 11-12 overall. The game will be the first of the season for the Lady Blues as an exhibition matchup for them. The team's leading returning scorer is Brielle Greenleaf, who averaged 15.9 points and 2.8 steals per game last season. Illinois College is a member of the NCAA Division III level.
 
SCOUTING WILLIAM WOODS:
The owls are 2-2 overall this season and will face the Leathernecks this upcoming Tuesday. Thus far, they are led by Peyton Greenlee, who averages 16.7 points per game. The team is led by head coach Dan Chapla, who is in his 10th season with the Owls. William Woods is also the alma mater to current Western Illinois women's basketball Graduate Assistant Marissa Webb ('16).
