Leatherneck Women's Golf in Eighth after Opening Round of Tennessee Tech's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

Allie Leingang enters the second day of the invite in a tie for 7th place after carding a 77 during day one

DAY ONE RESULTS

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - Western Illinois women's golf finished the opening day of Tennessee Tech's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in eighth place with a 329. The event features one, 18-hole round during each of the event's three days (March 20-22) and is taking place on the Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club.

Allie Leingang leads the Leathernecks heading into day two with a 77 and is tied for seventh place overall.

Julie Whalen and Katie McTaggart are both competing as individuals and sit second and tied for third in the team's standings with scores of 82 and 83, respectively. Whalen is tied for 27th, while McTaggart is in a tie for 33rd.

Also in 33rd overall is Alex Krehbiel who, like McTaggart, shot an 83 during round one.

Anna Cullinan opened the three-day event with an round-one score of 84 and is tied for 41st place. Mariah Peters and Allison Farrell round out the team's 'Top 5' and are tied for 47th individually each having shot an 85 in round one.

Round two is slated to take place Monday, and the third round scheduled for Tuesday.
